'3 Poems' by Kufre Udeme.

A Naked Corn Mill.

I.

Sir Dino Bill
Lived on Disaba hill
With Lady Diana Bill
They had a corn mill
Beside their water drill.
Sir Dino Bill
And Lady Diana Bill
Loved standing still
Beside the water drill
For each shrill
Of the mill
Drew birds from round the hill
The birds loved the corn at the mill.
And so, Sir Dino Bill
And Lady Diana Bill
Would stood still
Beside the water drill
And they would shoot and kill
The birds from round the hill
To silenced their hunger will.

II.

One day, Sir Dino Bill
Fell terribly ill
And Lady Diana Bill
Sobbed, 'Oh, my Bill
Get well soon, my dear Bill'
'Weep not, my lady, weep not, Diana Bill
I'll be well again,' answered Sir Dino Bill
So Lady Diana Bill
Dabbed her tears, and went down the hill
To get from a physician, a stress pill
But she forgot to mute their hunger fill.
So some birds from round the hill
Flew over to the mill
And lingered untill...
Before Sir Dino Bill
Could staggered out to mute the shrill
Cry of the mill
Lady Diana Bill
Returned with the stress pill
To meet a naked corn mill.

Life Is A Shadow.

Life is but a shadow
A shaky zigzag shadow
The figure of it is vague
And the things we do and see
Are the shades of what we can't see
The sillhouette of life is what we live
Its outline lies beyond the grave
Nothing but the shadow is what we live
But the outline waits beyond our grave
For the figure of life is vague
And life is but a shadow
A shaky zigzag shadow.

Run For Thy Destiny.

What is destiny?
`Tis like the air thou breathe
`Tis a gift thou can't deny
Destiny is man's priority
Thy right is thy power
Let not it sour
Improve on thy ability
For thou art the capacity
To arrest thy responsibility
Thy destiny is far not from thee
`Cause thy creator is far not from thee
So be thou alert
Oh man, cleave unto thy destiny
Hold it as a treasure
`Twas given without measure.
